TABI: Trust-Based ABAC Mechanism for Edge-IoT Using Blockchain Technology

Recent research has focused on applying blockchain technology to solve security-related problems in Internet of Things (IoT) networks. However, implementing directly IoT networks is prone high overheads and energy-expensive operations. Therefore, this paper, we use edge computing avoid these problems. We also propose a novel Trust-based Access Control Mechanism for Edge-IoT Networks using Blockchain (named TABI) implement end-to-end security resource-constrained The TABI mechanism utilizes both access control trust evaluation mechanisms mitigate the impact malicious users devices. Additionally, it incorporates permissioned Hyperledger provide an added layer through authentication. implemented as calculation contract (TCC) devices Composer. employs Attribute-based (ABAC) mechanism, which two smart contracts: attribute (AC) (ACC). proof-of-concept (PoC) implementation Caliper (a benchmark testing tool) Docker images. Through evaluation, highlight effectiveness terms throughput, latency, detection devices, resource consumption analyses demonstrate that particularly useful applications require low latency efficiency.
